TWO seminars are being organised by Bexley Council to help businesses understand the laws on the sale of age-restricted goods.
The seminars are being organised by the council’s trading standards team and take place at the civic offices in Bexleyheath Broadway on Friday.
Age-restricted goods include items such as cigarettes and tobacco, knives, fireworks and alcohol.
The council has already sent out invitations to more than 240 businesses in the borough, but says it has been disappointed with the response.
A number of borough businesses have been prosecuted or received official warnings for breaking the law by selling such items to underage customers.
The trading standards team also carry out regular test purchases to make sure businesses are staying within the law.
The seminars will take place at 10am and 2pm. To book a place, call 020 8308 7634.
