FIREFIGHTERS had a busy few days tackling blazes in the area.
Two fire engines and around 10 fire fighters were called to a fire in a flat in Charlton Lane, Charlton, on October 18.
A man needed to be helped out of the property by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
On the same evening, 20 firefighters tackled a blaze at an empty shop in Hale Street, Woolwich.
The fire badly damaged the first floor and part of the second floor of the property. The stairwell between the first and second floor was severely damaged.
And on October 19, crews from New Cross and Old Kent Road were called to a fire on Naylor Road, New Cross, which badly damaged the ground floor.
Two men, two women and three children left the building before the brigade arrived.
The causes of all three fires are under investigation.
