A TRIAL date has been set for a lorry driver who has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Martin O’Neil, aged 51, from Rugby, appeared at Wood Green Crown Court in Haringey on October 15.

O’Neil pleaded not guilty to the charge in connection with a crash which led to the death of three women, including one from Dartford.

His trial will begin on May 5 next year at the same court.

Patience Ncube, 22, from Dartford, was killed in a collision between a lorry and a Toyota Yaris on February 16.

The car’s driver Danielle Campbell, 23, from Catford, and passenger Kaya Bousquet, 23, from St John’s Wood, died later in hospital.

A third passenger recovered from the injuries she suffered in the crash, which happened on the M1 between Junction 2 and Junction 3 near Fiveways Corner and the Barnet bypass.
