STUDENTS went old school with their costumes and dance moves at a retro disco.
Around 150 year seven pupils at Hextable School, in Egerton Avenue, Hextable, enjoyed the annual retro disco on Friday.
They dressed up in costumes from the 1980s and danced to Michael Jackson hit Thriller as well as music provided by a band made up of Year 10 pupils.
Assistant headteacher Nicola Archibald helped to organise the disco and says it helped the new intake of Year 7 students settle into the school.
She said: “The retro disco helps new students get to know each other and encourages them to see dance as a subject they can do and enjoy.”
The disco also saw tutor groups competing against each other for a best dance routine and costume award.
Hextable School specialises in performing arts.
