GOLDEN balls have been on display throughout Deptford as part of an arts festival.
Artist Fran Cottell placed about 400 gold painted balls in various locations in Deptford, including on top of St. Paul’s church, in Deptford High Street.
The outdoor exhibition was part of the Deptford X art festival, which ran from September 26 to October 19.
She also placed a display of golden balls in Creekside, Deptford, on October 18, to celebrate the end of the festival.
According to Ms Cottell, the idea was to draw people’s attention to interesting buildings and places in the town.
She said: “People have got quite familiar with seeing them around the town and I placed more balls in Creekside because it’s a beautiful place.
“I used gold because it gives value to things that don’t usually have value.”
