TWO sisters ran five miles to help recognise the work of a local hospice who cared for their dying grandmother.
The sponsored five-mile run on Kings Meadow behind Burnt Ash Library in Burnt Ash Lane, Bromley, saw 10 runners help raise £1,000 for St Christopher’s Hospice based in Sydenham.
The hospice helps looks after people with cancer and other serious illnesses and cared for run organiser Tanya Allen’s grandmother before she died of cancer in October 2007.
Miss Allen said: “My grandmother was such a special person and the care she received from St Christopher’s Hospice was fantastic.
“I wanted to do something positive and give something back on the anniversary of her death. She was so kindhearted.”
Tanya, 23, ran with her older sister Charlene during the fun run on October 19.
