VOLUNTARY groups and organisations are running out of time to apply for up to £3,000 funding towards projects.

Dartford Council, which is offering the cash through its voluntary sector grant scheme, is giving people until this October 31 to apply.

Grants of between £100 and £3,000 are available for projects and activities which can include purchase of equipment, training, start-up funding initiatives or professional advice.

If successful, organisations will receive the grants in April. This year a total of £30,100 was awarded to groups, which included Home-Start North West Kent in Temple Hill Square, Dartford.

Councillor Ann Allen, portfolio holder for the voluntary grants scheme, said: “There are many local organisations that do some fantastic work in and around Dartford and the grant scheme helps them to provide valuable services.

“I hope many groups take this opportunity to apply if they haven’t already done so.”
