POLICE are investigating a burglary after the home of a 95-year-old woman was broken into while she slept.
The burglary happened in the early hours of October 20, when a man broke into the elderly woman’s home in Beckenham and snatched £60 and a diamond ring.
It is believed the man emptied the woman’s handbag and fled the scene after she woke up at around 1am.
The occupant of the house, who lives alone, was not harmed and neighbours reported hearing a police helicopter and sirens in the early hours of the morning.
Police and forensic teams remained at the scene on October 20 while investigations into the burglary continue.
