YOUNG gardeners are hunting for extra cash to continue their work creating a wildlife meadow in Chislehurst.
The Bromley Youth Advisory Panel, made up of 11 to 19-year-olds who want to improve the borough’s green spaces, worked with local army cadets earlier this month to dig out a pond near Mead Road Infant School in Mead Road, Chislehurst.
They are now applying for a cash grant to help them finish the pond and create a wildlife meadow nearby.
Parks partnership officer at Bromley Council Penny Read said: “Digging out the pond was a tough project and it was a challenging site.
“Hopefully we haven’t worn the group out and they will want to come back to do some more.
“They are busy researching ways to get more money to take the project further and are learning more about wildlife meadows in preparation.”
