A 24-YEAR-OLD-MAN who kicked and stabbed a man in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for 16 years.
Simon Ochen, of McMillan Street, Deptford, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on October 17 after an attack in Landsdowne Lane, Charlton, on February 24.
Ochen, who pleaded guilty to attempted murder, pulled up alongside the victim and his friend in a car as they walked along the street before attacking them just after midnight.
One of the men escaped but the other was kicked to the ground.
When police and an ambulance arrived they found the 24-year-old lying on the floor with stab wounds to his back and buttocks.
He was in a coma for two months and suffered a collapsed lung together with serious brain injuries which will affect him for the rest of his life.
Ochen was arrested two days later. Forensic tests showed his socks and shoes were covered in the victim's blood.
