A PARK RANGER has been employed by a council following demands from residents to tackle anti-social behaviour and dog fouling.
Stone Parish Council recruited 53-year-old Peter Mustoe to patrol and look after its parks and open spaces and he began work last month.
Mr Mustoe has already made an impact in the recreation ground in London Road, where he has introduced ducks, geese and a pot-bellied pig into the front garden of the ranger’s house.
He said: “I will be looking at ways to improve and encourage the use of council parks and am keen to involve local residents in projects.”
Mr Mustoe has the power to give fines to people caught dropping litter and not cleaning up after their dogs, and he is also trained to give first aid in the event of an emergency.
