YOUNGSTERS have been celebrating Black History Month with an African-themed music workshop.
More than 40 children, aged five and under, went along to the Springfield Creche in Springfield Grove, Charlton, on October 17.
They dressed up in African clothing, sang songs, danced and were taught how to play a variety of instruments including the west African drums and xylophone.
Creche manager Dorothy Samuel, said: “It was a wonderful way to celebrate Black History Month with song, music and colour.
"The children made it a true celebration highlighting the success of our multi-cultural area. It was a brilliant way to look to the future”
The event was organised by housing association, Charlton Triangle Homes, in partnership with the Government childcare initiative, Sure Start.
