AN OLYMPIC gold medallist joined other world-beating athletes as they climbed into the starting blocks for London 2012.
Olympic 400-metre champion Christine Ohuruogu visited the Priory School in Tintagel Road, Orpington, on October 15 to launch the Team Superschools Challenge.
The 24-year-old was joined by former triple jump world record holder Ashia Hansen, sprinter Christian Malcolm and Olympic relay gold medallist Darren Campbell, as a host of stars set out to visit 2012 schools around the UK before the Olympic opening ceremony in London.
The initiative aims to raise money for schools through sponsored exercise events, while inspiring budding young athletes.
