A COUNCIL aims to get youngsters off the streets and taking part in activities.
Stone Parish Council has teamed up with YMCA Thames Gateway to offer a range of free activities to young people in the area.
Courses in music production, DJing, kickboxing and a host of sports are available at Stone Community Hall in Hayes Road every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm.
Council chairman Councillor Stephanie Thredgle said: “Last month we did a survey asking residents what they would like to see in Stone and many people said more activities for young people.
“We hope these courses will get our youngsters off the streets while providing a lot of fun.”
The council plans to introduce another weekly evening of courses after consulting youngsters on which activities they would like to do.
