A SERIES of informal sessions has been launched by Bexley Care Trust to help parents talk to their children about relationships and sex.
The sessions are aimed at people who have children aged 10 to 12, so they can pick up tips and advice on how to listen to their children and discuss relationship issues.
Peter Buck, the trust’s assistant director of public health, said: “In just two hours, parents can refresh their knowledge and develop confidence to initiate conversations about the changes and challenges growing up will bring.”
The sessions are free and are running from this month until December.
Every parent who attends will also receive a free information pack.
Research has shown young people who can talk to their parents and discuss their concerns are less likely to have an unplanned pregnancy.
