AN NHS Trust in Kent has been rated excellent by the Healthcare Commission.
Results published today (OCTOBER 16) show that Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has achieved excellent for its quality of service to patients.
It was also rated good for its use of resources.
The Healthcare Commission, which is the independent watchdog for healthcare in England, assessed all trusts in the country.
It rated each organisation using a four point scale, ranging from excellent to weak, on both its quality of services and use of resources or financial management.
The annual results cover the period April 1 2007 to March 31 2008.
Chief executive Mark Devlin said: “Year on year we have made steady progress towards achieving ever higher standards in both quality of service and use of resources.
“This achievement positions Darent Valley as one of the highest performing hospital in the NHS and keeps us on track with our aim of becoming a foundation trust.”
