YOUNGSTERS have raised £200 for the borough’s RSPCA branch from a series of fundraising events.
Year 8 pupils at Coopers Technology College, Hawkwood Lane, Chislehurst, presented the cheque to Jane Walker from the Bromley and District branch of the animal charity.
Last year they held several events including a crazy hair day, a talent contest and a cake sale.
Branch secretary Jane Walker said: “Many members of the public do not realise each branch is an independent registered charity and doesn’t receive any funding, not even from the main society.
“In fact, we have to make an annual payment to it.
“Coopers students have helped raise awareness and their fundraising will make a big difference to the needy animals we care for.”
