A MAN has appeared in court in connection with the murder of two French students in New Cross.
Nigel Farmer of no fixed address appeared at the Old Bailey today (October 16).
The 33-year-old has been charged with murdering Gabriel Ferez and Laurent Bonomo on June 29.
The two 23-year-olds were found dead in a flat in Sterling Gardens, New Cross, after emergency services were called to investigate an explosion at the flat.
Farmer has also been charged with arson and attempting to pervert the course of justice and has been remanded in custody.
A trial date has been set for April 21 next year.
- Daniel Sonnex, 23, of Etta Street, Deptford, has also been charged with killing the two biochemistry exchange students from Clermont-Ferrand university in France.
Sonnex will appear at the Old Bailey on Monday (October 20).
- A 35-year-old man has been bailed to return to police on October 20 and a 28-year-old man has been bailed to return to police in November.
