TRAINS to Swanley were disrupted yesterday (October 15) when a woman was killed after being hit by a train near Rochester station.
The incident occurred around 2pm, when she was struck by the Dover Priory to London Victoria train.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the woman was found to have died from her injuries.
A spokesman for train operator Southeastern said: “All lines re-opened at 3.21pm yesterday, but the incident disrupted services on the Chatham and Maidstone East lines via Swanley, well into the evening, with trains being cancelled, delayed and diverted.
“Rail replacement buses were provided where possible to help passengers continue their journeys.”
British Transport Police said that the woman who was killed was Jane Beal of Rochester, aged 45.
