YOUNGSTERS were paid a visit by a children’s author as part of their school’s book week.
Writer Denis Bond came along to read to pupils and run writing workshops at Castlecombe Primary School, Castlecombe Road, Mottingham.
He gave the children advice for stories, and with Years 5 and 6 he gave them a story structure for them to go away and use in the classroom.
The entire school of 210 pupils aged between five and 11 took part in the event.
Deputy headteacher Roger Ward said: “The children were really excited and enjoyed working with him.
“They gained a lot from working with a professional writer.”
