A VOLUNTARY group that serves the community has been raising money in a supermarket.
Eight members of the Biggin Hill and Westerham Lions Club collected £400 from shoppers at Sainsbury’s in Otford as part of Lions Awareness Week.
Money will go towards supporting the work the club do in the community.
There are nearly 1,000 Lions clubs across the UK and Ireland, who raise money for charities such as Diabetes UK, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the International Glaucoma Association.
Biggin Hill and Westerham Lions Club President Malcolm Lowing said: “It is important because without raising money we can’t help the community.”
The club is always looking for new members and anyone interested should call Malcolm Lowing on 01959 576628.
