KEEN walkers who want to spread their enthusiasm to others are being offered a chance to go on a course.
The project is a collaboration between Trust Thamesmead and Bexley Care Trust and will teach people how to lead walks.
The free one-day course will take place at the Greenmead Children’s Centre, Lime Row, Thamesmead, from 10am to 3pm on October 24.
People will learn how to do a risk assesment and at the end of the day will receive a certificate which will qualify them to set up their own group.
Trust community development officer Linda Delieu said: “Walks are a great way for people to keep fit and healthy, meet new people and learn about the open spaces in area.”
Anyone aged over 18 can apply for a place on the course and a creche will be available.
Places have to be pre-booked and are allocated on a first come, first served, basis.
To book a place, call 020 8320 4470.
