STUDENTS who went to find out about an environmental diploma encountered a python, tarantula, lizard and giant toad.
Around 50 pupils and staff from Glebe School, Coopers Technology College, Bromley College, Ravensbourne School and Bishop Justus School learned about the sustainable environment and land management at the Bromley Environmental Education Centre in High Elms Country Park, Shire Lane, Farnborough.
The day, organised by the Bromley Education Business Partnership, was an introduction to the new Environmental and Land-based diploma, that will be offered to schools in the next academic year.
Operations manager at the partnership Lesley Holland said: “Students of all abilities studying geography or biology were given a chance to put classroom theory into the context of the real world.
“I am sure the giant toad, monitor lizard, tarantula and of course Zeus the giant python made the day memorable.”
