AT A recent meeting of Orpington Video and Filmmakers, Chris Coulson gave a demonstration on green screen filming.
The most familiar use of such a screen is the weather map on television which, although not there, does appear to be behind the presenter.
Using a computer, Chris showed how the colour green can be made transparent to video, allowing action to be filmed anywhere and the background filled in afterwards.
While the images made this way were projected in the club room there was a lot of laughter as Simon Earwicker pretended to jump, run and sit in different locations, including a large library.
The members produce up to 70 films in a year and it is hoped they will soon make use of the screen in some of their productions.
