RESIDENTS have celebrated their road being named Lewisham’s first eco street.
On September 25, the Rockbourne Triangle in Forest Hill was picked by Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock after Lewisham Council asked people to nominate a street for an environmental makeover.
Residents’ rewards include a free energy assessment and advice on how to cut energy use and increase recycling.
Clean-up events will be held and a car club will be set up.
The triangle, which includes Stanstead Road, Rojack Road, Rockbourne Road and Montrose Way, was nominated because over the past two years around 50 residents created a community garden, which was completed in July.
