After having another miscarry in february I was offered some tests.
Yet before the tests I had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment.
Receiving my appointment letter by the end of March 08. Yet the appointment wasn't until another 3 weeks later.
When I arrived for the appointment I was seen by a Junior Dr because the Dr I was suppose to see was busy with another unfortunate lady.
I understand we all have to learn our profession but this made no sense as the Junior Dr had to keep popping to and throw to the Dr I should have seen for the answers to my questions.
Now this is frustrating.
After leaving I still was none the wiser as to what happens next.
I was only told I will have some tests.
After April and May came and gone I wasn't contacted as to what was to be happening.
Well I got on the phone and Phoned the Dr dealing with the treatment I was SUPPOSE to be having.
To my surprise (NOT)
The Dr said ''Oh we should have sent you for a Genetics blood test.... Sorry that should have been weeks ago.
It takes 8 weeks for it to come through''.
Also I should have had a HSG (Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) - Testing for Uterine Factors in Recurrent Miscarriage)
Whats really appalling is...........
My partner and I had our blood test at my local hospital Lewisham. The problem was they didn't send the blood to Guys Hospital in time. So while I'm waiting for the test to be completed... it wasn't being done.
8 weeks later I received a letter from the Dr from Lewisham dealing with my case.
She announced.. '' Sorry, the test wasn't done because Guys received the blood too late. The blood was to reach Guys Hospital within 72 hrs. It actually reached there 6 days later.
Considering the amount of people suffering miscarriages and problems to conceive I couldn't believe my next hurdle.
The HSG.....Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) - Testing for Uterine Factors in Recurrent Miscarriage
The HSG is only done on a Tuesday and Thursdays and can only be done within 10 days of your last period.
Not only that... only 2 people can have this done on those said days.
2 PEOPLE?..... Can only have it done on those days....
4 PEOPLE IN A WEEK it's unbelievable.
So after all 5 months down the line I finally have the HSG today. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) - Testing for Uterine Factors in Recurrent Miscarriage
It didn't need to be 5 months of waiting for anything. All this could have been handed to me via the paper work and appointment system when I first went to hospital in february.
