A teenage boy might have life-changing injuries after a hit-and-run in Eltham.

Police were called to Newmarket Green, next to Middle Park Avenue, after the 14-year-old boy was hit by a car today (December 2) at 11.14am.

The boy is said to have been riding an e-bike at the time of the crash.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the boy has been taken to hospital with potentially life-changing leg injuries.

However the driver did not stop at the scene and police are searching for them.

Over three hours later, Middle Park Avenue remains blocked between Kingsground and Gregory Crescent.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 11:14hrs on Monday, 2 December, to a car in collision with a boy riding an e-bike in Newmarket Green, SE9.

“Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues.

“The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing leg injuries.

“The car did not stop at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the vehicle and driver.

“There has been no arrest at this stage.”
