You can find these four Christmas tree farms within an hour's drive of south east London if you fancy an exciting trip out this festive season.

With Christmas Day being under a month away, it’s about time to dust off all your decorations for another year.

From local farms where you can choose a tree and spend a day petting the animals to Kent farms where you can meet Father Christmas and choose your tree – there’s plenty of places to shop for your tree local to south east London.

Here’s what you need to know:

Xmas Tree Farm

Where? Cudham Road, Downe Village, Orpington, BR6 7LF

When? Every day 10am-4pm (weather permitting)

Just 20 minutes drive from Bromley in the nearby village of Downe, Xmas Tree Farm is a popular farm you can visit, with plenty of farm animals and of course Christmas trees.

The farm will be stocking Nordmann Firs ranging from small 4ft trees up to larger 10ft trees, depending on how much room you have to deck your halls.

The farm is also open to explore between 10am and 4pm with a host of animals to see, with entry costing £6 for adults and £4 for adults, making it a great day out to pick a tree and meet the farm's residents.

South London Christmas Tree Farm

Where? Westwood Farm, Rock Hill, Orpington, BR6 7PP

When? November 29-30 and December 1, 6-8 & 13-14, 9am-4:30pm

Just off the M25 in Orpington, this farm has been selling Christmas trees for over three decades.

Here you’ll be able to find trees that have been grown and harvested on the farm, with both Nordmann and Norwegian Spruce trees on offer, ranging between 5ft and 12ft tall.

After you’ve picked your free you can either have the farm cut it for you, or you can do it yourself for that full-on Christmas tree picking experience.

Kingswood Christmas Trees

Where? Gravelly Bottom Road, Kingswood, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 3NU

When? Every day 9am-5pm

Just 50 minutes away from south east London, this popular family-run Christmas tree farm has been growing and selling trees in Kent for 60 years.

A whopping 20,000 trees are planted at the farm every year and you can even explore the farm in search of the perfect tree to spruce up your home.

The farm sells Norwegian Spruces ranging between 2ft and 12ft in height, with prices starting at £21.99, or if you are after something even bigger they also have Nordmann Firs ranging from 2ft right up to a massive 20ft in height.

And you can even get a free Kids Tree for every tree bought on the day.

But aside from trees, you can also find potted trees as well as undecorated wreaths and swags to decorate your home with greenery.

There's also a Christmas Shop selling decorations to decorate your tree, and Santa’s Grotto where the little ones can meet the man in red himself for £19.99.

Kingsley Farm Christmas Trees

Where? Blackberry Road, Felcourt, East Grinstead, RH7 6NQ

When? Every day, 9:30am - 4:30pm, until December 23 

Located on the borders of Surrey and Kent, this farm planted its first trees in 2009 and stocks both Nordmann Fir and Blue Spruce trees ranging between 3ft and 15ft in height. 

Dogs are also welcome and the farm can also cut and wrap your tree, with the option to reserve a tree before you visit if you’re strapped for time.
