A new McDonald’s restaurant has opened in Kent today, hoping to provide fast and easy service to its customers in a new modern venue.

The new site will open in Swanley today (Wednesday) creating 60 jobs for the community.

The 47-seater restaurant will be open daily from 7am to 11pm for dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders at the Swanley Centre, Unit 29/30 Nightingale Way.

Led by local franchisee Greg Abbott, it features table service, self-ordering kiosks and a 16-seat outdoor patio.

Built as part of McDonald’s Convenience of the Future programme, the restaurant has been designed to enhance speed, efficiency and customer choice.

Separate areas for different ordering methods ensure a smoother experience for diners and delivery couriers.

A redesigned kitchen and dedicated courier waiting space will help staff serve orders faster and more accurately.

Sustainability is also a focus, with the restaurant featuring eco-friendly innovations to support McDonald’s goal of reaching net zero emissions in the UK by 2030.

Bio-laminate furniture, locally sourced materials and recyclable ceiling tiles are among the key features.

Wall lettering and signs are made from recycled materials, including McDonald’s coffee grounds, and energy-efficient systems have been installed to reduce environmental impact.

Greg Abbott, who now owns and operates 10 McDonald’s restaurants in Kent, said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Swanley and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.

“People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.

“We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality.

“ It’s particularly exciting to be opening this new restaurant as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th year in the UK."
