Two lorries have crashed on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing, causing severe delays for motorists.

National Highway officers were called to the incident on the A282 southbound between M25 J31 and A282 J1A just before 7am today (November 19).

Two lanes were closed for vehicle recovery, and the road was fully reopened at 8.45am.

The incident caused delays of up to 70 minutes on the approach and more than four miles of congestion.

It is unknown whether any injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: “A collision involving 2 HGVs was reported shortly before 7am this morning on the A282 southbound between M25 J31 and A282 J1A.

“Two lanes were closed for vehicle recovery, and the road was fully reopened shortly before 0845am.

“There are still residual delays of up to 70 minutes on the approach.”
