A man has been found injured after being sprayed with an “unknown substance” in Belvedere.
The incident happened in Lower Road near Mayfield Road at around 10.15am today (November 18).
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade were called to the scene.
The man was treated at the scene where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.
Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At about 10:15hrs on Monday, 18 November, police were called to Lower Road in Belvedere following reports of a person who was sprayed with an unknown substance.
“Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and the London Ambulance Service.
“LFB treated a man on scene - his injuries are non-life-threatening or life-changing.
“Enquiries in the circumstances are ongoing.”
A spokesperson London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.21am today (18 November) to reports of an incident in Lower Road, Belvedere.
“We sent members of our Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene.
“We treated a patient and discharged him at the scene.”
