A riverside Christmas market is opening in Greenwich this weekend – with a carousel, food stalls and festive workshops.

Launching this weekend on November 16, Greenwich Peninsula’s festive market will run up until January 5 and will feature a host of festive activities in the lead-up to Christmas.

The event, which will be at Greenwich Peninsula within a short walk of the O2, will feature a 10-metre Christmas tree and Winter Carousel, along with a host of artisan food stalls running throughout November and December.

But if you fancy trying your hand at sewing, you can also try out sock mending with Celia Pym or a Sashiko workshop with Toast, where you’ll learn how to reinforce clothes with embroidered patches in the Japanese method that translates to ‘little stabs’.

The day will also feature a special viewing of Gremlins with Movie & Munch, where for £20 a person guests can enjoy three themed treats inspired by this 80s classic.
