An east Dulwich pub has reopened after a huge six-figure revamp of the venue and its food offerings.
The Bishop on Lordship Lane recently reopened on November 6 and now showcases updated interiors, warmer lighting, and carefully selected urban décor aimed at enhancing the space’s inviting ambience.
The makeover includes a stylish wooden bar, plush leather seating, and a feature ceiling, all complemented by statement pendant lights casting a soft winter glow.
Walls display curated artwork while the redesigned beer garden offers a cosy rooftop feel—perfect for a post-work pint as winter sets in.
Head Chef Martin Scerbak has introduced a new menu of seasonal dishes that reimagine pub classics with new flavours.
Standouts include the vegan Ssamjang Pulled Mushroom on sourdough crumpet with fresh spring onion and coriander, and a hearty Roasted Squash and Chickpea Salad served with charred onions and a puy lentil dressing.
Seafood lovers can try the Chalk Stream Smoked Trout, paired with confit potatoes and a beetroot salad, while the Beetroot Hummus with sourdough flatbread makes for a perfect starter.
The drinks menu has also been updated, with creative takes on familiar cocktails like the Honey Espresso Martini and the Orange and Ginger Martini.
The bar offers a full range of lagers, wines, and ciders, alongside snack options like sesame chicken skewers with ssamjang sauce and triple-cheese truffle straws with an artichoke dip—ideal for an after-work treat.
Martin said: "We wanted to create a menu that resonates with the community while also pushing the boundaries of what people expect from pub food.
"Each dish has been thoughtfully designed to bring an element of surprise and to showcase fresh, vibrant ingredients in a new light."
With its fresh look and inventive new menu, The Bishop aims to become an even more beloved local fixture, inviting the East Dulwich community to enjoy a renewed pub experience as the festive season begins.
Isobel Mills, General Manager, said: “We’re excited to re-open The Bishop with a beautiful new look for the winter season.
“We’ve worked hard to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we look forward to greeting our regulars and new guests alike.
“Don’t miss our relaunch party on the November 14, with food & drink samples and live music to celebrate the new Bishop.”
