Police have been given extra powers once again due to anti-social behaviour and large groups setting off fireworks.
A Section 35 dispersal order has been authorised, allowing officers to instruct people to leave a public area between 12pm today (November 5) until 2am on Thursday (November 7).
The affected zone surrounds Lewisham Town Centre, a section of the Ravensbourne River and beyond.
It comes after “a number of incidents” by large groups causing anti-social behaviour in the town centre and setting off fireworks in recent days.
Just last week, police were given the same powers from October 31 to November 2, also due to anti-social behaviour and disorder in Lewisham Town Centre.
A notice of the enforcement was posted on the @MPSLewisham X account reading: “A Section 35 has been put in place around Lewisham Town Centre.
“This is from 12pm today until 2am on Thursday, November 7. This is due to a number of incidents of large groups causing ASB in the Town centre and setting off fireworks in recent days.”
