A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 74-year-old after he was assaulted in Covent Garden.
Trevor John Gocan, 57 of Odhams Walk, Covent Garden will appear at Southwark Crown Court today (November 5) charged with the murder of James 'Jim' O'Neill.
Jim was found seriously injured in Odhams Walk at around 11.56pm on October 6 after police were called with reports of an assault.
The 74-year-old was taken to a hospital where he died on October 21.
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
Det Insp Rebecca Woods said “We are continuing with enquiries as part of this murder investigation following Jim’s death.
“I appreciate that this was a concerning incident, with many members of the public witnessing and providing first aid to Jim.

“If you witnessed anything but haven’t contact us, please do and help us get justice for Jim’s family.”
