A shop in Petts Wood has submitted an application for an updated premises license that proposes several significant changes including being open 24/7, including for the sale of alcohol.

Shell Little Waitrose, located at 52 Queensway, wants to expand its opening hours from the current 7am to 11pm to a 24-hour schedule, allowing for around-the-clock access for customers.

The application also seeks permission to extend the sale of alcohol for off-site consumption to 24 hours a day, departing from its current 7am to 11pm window.

The license also aims to introduce late-night refreshment services, permitting hot food and drink sales between 11pm and 5am daily.

To accommodate these new offerings, Shell Little Waitrose Petts Wood intends to update the internal layout of the premises and rename the trading name officially to align with the Shell and Waitrose brands.

This application will also involve removing previous conditions attached to the license, replacing them with updated protocols in line with the new operational policies.

These protocols include implementing a robust CCTV system that will run continuously, ensuring safety, monitoring activity, and helping prevent crime and disorder.

The premises has committed to implementing a Challenge 25 age verification policy for alcohol sales, enforcing strict identification checks to protect minors.
