Hither Green is a “well-kept secret” of south east London for commuters who want to live somewhere with a sense of community.

It has some beautiful parks which gives residents the chance to go for some scenic walks, such as Manor House Gardens or Mountsfield Park.

Someone who visited Manor House Gardens left a glowing review on TripAdvisor.

They said: “This a very beautiful park and somewhat hidden.

“There’s another park nearby with a similar name but this is the nicer of the two.

“There are multiple parts to the park - the Manor House, the green, the pond, the tennis courts and a football/basketball court.

“It’s very peaceful but expect to see kids chasing geese around.”

Mountsfield Park also has rave reviews, with one Google reviewer saying: “What a treat. I had heard about this park but had never actually been there.

“Until that day, well, I tell you, what a vibe. It is such a nice park.”

There are also lots of pubs and bars on the outskirts of the area for residents to head to when they fancy a drink.

KFH describes the area as “a more affordable option for young families” hoping to find a home in London.

A spokesperson said: “A range of residents’ groups dedicated to preserving the area’s charms point to a community feel that is hard to manufacture, and their efforts have succeeded in restoring local landmarks and introducing tree planting projects.

“An influx of professionals and families with young children has seen a turnaround in the fortunes of Lee and Hither Green, and these local community organisations are thriving, with more cafes, bars and shops arriving all the time.”
