London has been home to many A-list powerhouses and stars, including footballer David Beckham, actress Gemma Chan, singer Adele, and three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis.
Day-Lewis has starred in a host of award-winning films, including There Will Be Blood, The Last of the Mohicans, Gangs of New York, Lincoln, and My Left Foot, to name just a few.
Often described as one of the "best actors of all time," Day-Lewis actually began his career and passion for acting in South East London.
Born in Kensington and later moving to Croom's Hill in Greenwich, the actor attended two primary schools in the area.

Son of poet Cecil Day-Lewis, the actor attended Invicta Primary School in Blackheath and Sherington Primary School in Charlton while living in London before moving to Kent and attending a school in Sevenoaks.
Remembering his time at primary school and living in South London, Day-Lewis praised the area in his 2008 speech for winning a BAFTA for Leading Actor.
He shared: "Invicta Infant School, Sherington Primary School in Charlton, Greenwich Park, Blackheath, the streets of Deptford, Lewisham, New Cross, the bomb sites on the Isle of Dogs, the wards and shadowy laneways of the southeast London docks, the terraces of Millwall football ground.
"Those are the playgrounds of my early life."
Despite cherishing many memories of his time in South East London, a 1997 article in The Independent revealed that the Oscar winner opened up about his experiences with fellow students at school.

Later, as an actor, he chose to make Irish films such as My Left Foot, Gangs of New York, The Boxer, and In the Name of the Father to represent his Irish heritage.
Both Invicta Primary School in Blackheath and Sherington Primary School in Charlton remain open today, both with an Ofsted rating of "Good."
