After six weeks into the new school year, half term has arrived, and there are a variety of exciting activities for families to enjoy in Woolwich.

This October half term, Woolwich Works will be transforming into a Halloween haven with a line-up full of fun, including Halloween workshops and events, perfect for families seeking spooky thrills during the holidays.

The south east London hub has announced a series of activities taking place from Monday, October 28, to Sunday, November 3

The Woolwich Works Halloween schedule is packed with events and activities that promise to entertain.

These include an Ugly Ducking Ballet for the whole family, drop-in Halloween Creation Stations inspired by children’s stories, and Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave featuring DJ Prime Cuts.

 Families can join in a Halloween Hunt around Royal Arsenal, or adults can party the night away at the Halloween Party with DJ Prime Cuts. 

Below is a list of the activities kicking off at Woolwich Works this October half term.

Monday (October 28):

Halloween Hunt Window Display.

The Halloween hunt across the Royal Arsenal will take place on Monday, and will offer families a “spooky” hunt.

Families will start at the Dial Arch pub, solve riddles, and find letters hidden in local shop windows to crack the prize-winning word.

Those who complete the hunt will enjoy free pizza and crafts at the starting point.

 

Wednesday (October 30):

Ugly Duckling Ballet:

Let’s All Dance Productions, the creators of The Princess and the Frog, The Owl and the Pussycat, and Alice in Wonderland, will bring a brand-new ballet for the whole family.

(Image: Mance Communications)The Ugly Duckling will take families through his journey to self-discovery, with clear storytelling, and characters in costumes.

The show is for children between the ages of two and 11, and is one for the whole family.

 

Thursday (October 31).

Halloween Creation Stations:

On Halloween, children and families will be able to get crafty at the Halloween Creation Stations.

The free drop-in session will be led by teaching artist Christina Rose-Brown.

The session allows little ones to “unleash their creativity and take inspiration from beloved children’s books”.

Halloween Creation Stations is for children of all ages.

Also on Halloween is the THRILLER! Learn The Moves Dance Workshop.

In this session, families will be able to unleash their “inner zombie” and learn the iconic moves from Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

The step-by-step dance workshop has been designed for beginners and families of all ages.

Participants will begin with a warm-up to a mashup of dance floor favourites before diving into the famous choreography.

Those taking part have been encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes or comfy clothes.

From 8pm till late, Woolwich Works will be hosting their Halloween Party with Prime Cuts.

The evening will include a night of cocktails and promises plenty of dancing.

No tickets are required and all ages are welcome to attend the party, which will feature DJ Prime Cuts. 

Sunday (November 3):

On Sunday, DJ Prime Cuts will return for the Big Fish Little Fish Halloween Spooktacular Rave.

DJ Prime Cuts is set to mix his signature music for families with children aged 0-8.

The dancefloor is set to be filled with bubbles, foam, and balloons, as well as the parachute dance.

Children can be kept entertained with the craft stations, chill-out play areas and face painting.

Tickets start from £8 for children, and £10 for adults.

Pre-walking infants go in for free.

Visitors are encouraged to attend the rave in their Halloween costumes.
