A man from Bexley who was found dead in Gravesend has been named by police.

The body of Daniel Alves was found in an undergrowth near Wrotham Road just before 3.40pm on October 21.

The 39-year-old was first reported missing on October 5.

Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene however he was pronounced dead.

His family have since been notified.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

A crime scene was in place however it has since been closed.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Our Kent Police colleagues were called earlier this week to a report of a body being found in undergrowth near Wrotham Road, Gravesend.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was confirmed deceased.

“The deceased has been identified as Daniel Alves, who was reported missing from Bexley on 3 October. His family has been notified.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

“A scene was in place and has since been closed.”

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 3.39pm on Monday 21 October to a report of a body being found in undergrowth near Wrotham Road, Gravesend.

“Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was confirmed deceased.

“Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of a 39 year old man from Erith, who was reported missing on Saturday 5 October, have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
