A busy road in Beckenham has been closed as emergency repairs are being carried out due to a sink hole.
Blakeney Road between Bridge Road and Blakeney Avenue has been closed since around 6am this morning (October 23).
Bromley Council has confirmed the closure has been put in place for “safety” and an investigation will be carried out to find what caused the sink hole before it is filled in.
As a result of the road closure bus 352 is currently on diversion, according to AA Maps.
Councillor Nicholas Bennett, Executive Councillor for Portfolio Holder for Transport, Highways & Road Safety said, “A sink hole means that the road has been closed for safety and an investigation is underway to determine the cause before it is filled in".
