Police have issued an update regarding the condition of a driver after a truck fire on the M25.
Emergency services attended the scene of the fire between J5 near Sevenoaks and J6 near Godstone shortly after 10pm last night (October 20).
During the incident, all lanes on this particular stretch of the M25 were stopped in both directions.
Police have confirmed that the driver involved in the incident sustained only minor injuries.
While the anti-clockwise carriageway has reopened this morning (October 21), lanes 3 and 4 remain closed near J6.
The clockwise carriageway is still shut and is expected to remain closed until at least midday today for specialist recovery and potential resurfacing.
Surrey Police advised motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
National Highways confirmed that severe delays remain on all approaches at this stage.
There are currently 45 minute delays on the clockwise route with four four miles of congestion at J6.
