A Thamesmead man has been charged with drug-related offences following a police stop in Greenhithe that led to the seizure of cash and cocaine.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at around 5pm, officers on patrol noticed a Toyota Avensis on London Road that raised their suspicions of drug activity.
The vehicle was stopped, and its three occupants were searched.
During the search, police allegedly recovered £1,025 in cash, four mobile phones, and several wraps of cocaine.
Some of the drugs were found in a plastic bag, while others were located in the car's centre console.
The three men in the car were arrested and taken into custody.
One of them, Anthony Elston, 39, of Byron Close, Thamesmead, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property, referring to the seized cash.
Elston was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 18.
The other two men, aged 41 and 29, were released on bail while further investigations continue.
