The popular, annual switch on of Christmas lights and a lantern parade in Greenwich will be taking place next month as the countdown to Christmas begins.

Greenwich Market’s annual lights switch on and lantern parade is set to take place this year on Wednesday, November 20.

This popular event will welcome the beginning of the festive season with a colourful lantern parade around the Cutty Sark, followed by the lights turn on where Greenwich Market will be illuminated with Christmas lights.

Alongside the lights switch on at the market, local traders, food vendors and artisans will also be selling their wares for locals to have a chance to shop for Christmas gifts.
