Police have issued an update on the condition of a 24-year-old man who was stabbed in Lewisham.
The incident happened in Lewisham High Street near Lewis Grove at around 10.25pm on October 16.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was initially unknown.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (October 18) that his condition was assessed as non life threatening.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, he remains in police custody.
Multiple cordons were put in place in Lewis Grove as the incident was dealt with, however, this has since lifted.
The full Metropolitan Police statement says: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 22:25hrs on Wednesday, 16 October to reports of a man stabbed on Lewisham High Street.
"Officers attended. The 24-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.
"A crime scene is in place.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 reference CAD 8404/16Oct."
