Motorists have been urged to “avoid the area” after a “serious” three-car crash on the M20 in Kent.
All traffic has stopped both ways on the M20 near Swanley Interchange since around 6am today (October 16).
National Highways has advised motorists travelling on the M25 to head towards Maidstone to join the A2 coastbound at J2, continue onto the M2 and then join the A249 southbound at J5.
Motorists have been asked to consider alternative routes while emergency services respond to the incident.
It is unknown when all closures will be lifted.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Patrols are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the slip road from Junction 3 on the M25 towards the coastbound M20.
"Kent Police was called to the incident involving three cars at 6.19am on Wednesday 16 October.
"South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance and the slip road has been closed by highways officers.
"Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes while emergency services respond to the incident."
