A dad who hired a sex worker for his 13-year-old son has been told he faces a significant prison sentence.

The dad booked two rooms at a hotel in Bromley then arranged for a pair of sex workers to attend.

When his son said he didn’t want to have sex with a 26-year-old his dad told him “don’t be a pussy”, Croydon Crown Court heard.

The dad also offered a line of cocaine to his son, who replied “I’m f***ing 13, that’s ridiculous”.

The man, who cannot be named to protect his son's identity, pleaded guilty to arranging for a child to engage in sexual activity as well as offering to supply cocaine.

Prosecutor Martin Ingle said the dad took his son to dinner then told him he “bought a brass”.

When his son told him he didn’t want that, the dad blamed it on the boy’s mum being “overprotective” and told him “don’t be a pussy".

The dad added that the sex workers were already in a taxi so it was too late to cancel, the court heard.

When the two women arrived the boy was taken to a separate room where a 26-year-old sex worker performed a sex act on him, the court heard.

In a police statement the boy said he didn’t want to do it and he was left feeling disgusted.

The dad then paid the women £150 each and they left.

When the boy’s mum found out what had happened she drove her son to the police station and the dad was later arrested, Mr Ingle said.

The defendant appeared at Croydon Crown Court for sentencing but chose not to represented by a barrister.

He said: “I can’t have this hanging over my head, I just need it over with.”

Judge Tony Hyams-Parish warned him that the offence has a starting point of five years and that he faces “significant” prison time.

The case was adjourned for sentencing at a later date.
