Thomas Frank could not hide his delight at Brentford's attacking prowess as the Bees swept five past Wolverhampton Wanderers at Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford beat Wolves 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller that saw Nathan Collins, Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard, Ethan Pinnock and Fabio Carvalho all get on the scoresheet as the hosts ruthlessly exploited a shambolic Wolves defence.

The West Londoners have cultivated a reputation for positive, attacking football since Frank's arrival in 2018 and the Dane could not be prouder of his side's attacking exploits as they expertly dealt with the absences of forwards Yoane Wissa and Igor Thiago.

Speaking to the official club website, the Dane said: "Everything for the fans, huh? It's all about entertainment!

"Obviously, extremely happy. Don't take anything for granted. We're in the Premier League, the best league in the world. We are doing very well. We have maybe the fourth-lowest budget.

"It's crazy, I hope everyone acknowledges that. But, our offensive performance today: wow... wow. It looked like we would score a goal every time we went forward and every time we had a set-piece! I was very pleased with that part of our game.

"The fact we did that without Wissa and Igor - our No.9s  - is even more impressive.

"We should defend a bit better in certain situations: the first one definitely, the third one maybe, the second one was good play from Wolves.

"But we're on 10 points, we're in the next round of the Carabao Cup, and we want to keep on pushing."

Brentford had previously made history as the first Premier League side to score in the opening minute of three consecutive games last weekend

Yet the Bees had to wait a little later than they've become accustomed to when Collins headed home from the Mikkel Damsgaard's cross during the second-minute.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Frank said: "We've been practicing winning the coin toss the whole week and we lost that one [against Wolves], that's why it took 116 seconds!

"Jokes aside, it's quite remarkable of course, but we want to get forward as quick as possible, we want to work it on the side and put crosses into the box and they did it fantastic."

Brentford now find themselves in 10th place going into the October international break, and will next be in action when they visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on the 19th, followed by a double homestand against Ipswich in the Premier League and Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
