Two children and a woman have been taken to hospital after being attacked by four dogs in Orpington.

The incident happened in Mickleham Road in St Paul’s Cray shortly before 9am today (October 5).

Officers attended and the kids, four and six, and a 30-year-old old woman were found injured.

They were taken to hospital for treatment where their injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.

Police have since managed to bring the dogs under control.

Another woman has been arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control.

She remains in police custody.

Superintendent Mitch Carr, South Area BCU, said: "I know this incident will have caused a lot of public concern, especially due to the young age of the children injured.

"Fortunately, it is believed that none of the injuries are life-threatening.

“A woman has been arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control and she has been taken into custody.

"The dogs have also been taken to police kennels while the investigation is ongoing.

“Extra officers will be in the area over the next few days to provide community reassurance."

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Mickleham Road, St Paul's Cray shortly before 09.00hrs on Saturday, 5 October to reports of four dogs having injured members of the public.

“Officers attended and managed to bring the dogs under control.

“Two children, aged four and six, were found injured as well as a 30-year-old woman.

“They were taken to hospital. Their injuries have been assessed as non life-threatening.”
