Bromley’s popular car pageant celebrating classic cars is set to return next year to a new Sussex location, following this year's closure due to ULEZ concerns.
Bromley Pageant of Motoring is set to return next year on Sunday, July 27, 2025 to the newly conformed location of the South of England Showground in Haywards Heath in West Sussex.
The pageant, celebrating classic and vintage cars, was cancelled in 2024 after organisers Pippa and Jason Griffiths from A-ME confirmed that the event would not run at Norman Park, following the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) across Greater London including Bromley.
Whilst most of the cars attending the event would have not been privy to the £12.50 ULEZ charge due to being over 40 years of age, some modern classic car drivers would have been required to pay the charge to attend the event.
The organisers of the Bromley Pageant of Motoring, Pippa and Jason Griffiths from A-ME (who run it on behalf of Kelsey Media), said in a statement on social media: “Following the introduction of the ULEZ zone across Greater London, we have taken considerable time to evaluate all options for the future of the Bromley Pageant of Motoring, including whether it would be viable to still hold the Pageant at Norman Park, Bromley.”
The new venue in West Sussex was selected due to its offering of “all the facilities” needed to stage the event, along with it being outside the London ULEZ zone with access to the M23.
Attendees will also be able to camp at the new site on the Saturday evening before the event, with a range of facilities including disability access, toilet blocks and water taps, as well as an indoor trade area for stands.
What you need to know
The event will be held on Sunday, July 27 between 10am and 5pm, and will be held at the South of England Showground on Selsfield Road in Ardingly in Sussex.
Tickets can be booked online at the early bird prices of £11.29 for an adult, £5.94 for a child and £30.54 for a family of four, if booked before January 31.
Tickets can also be purchased at the gate on the day for £17 for an adult, £5 for a child, £39 for a family of four, and free for under fives.
In a statement, organisers Jason and Pippa said that the decision “wasn’t an easy one” and that they had hopes that the new location would allow the popular event to “thrive”.
A statement on the Bromley Pageant of Motoring website read: “It wasn’t an easy decision to make after being held at Norman Park for so long, however, it was the support of everyone who exhibited and visited that made the event what it was, and we truly believe that its spirit will thrive at the excellent new venue.
“The new event will be bigger and better, offering a fantastic motoring show for owners and enthusiasts of classic cars covering all eras and all makes and models.”
